Melissa is highly skilled in programme, project and client engagement management. Having held a number of positions in government, banking, and insurance, she joined Stellar in 2010. For many years Melissa undertook advisory and delivery consulting work, before joining the Stellar executive team.

One of Melissa’s career highlights would be achieving a promotion from junior programmer all the way up to Systems Development Manager after only five years in her very first job at the Countrywide Building Society. She also had management of a large scale insurance company integration programme that followed a number of major acquisitions.

And not a lot of people know, but Melissa actually trained as a computer programme back in the 1980s. Since then, she has successfully held the position of BI Manager at several large companies (Stellar engagements).

Interestingly, Melissa’s family has a strong boating lineage, in that her grandparents were keen fishermen, and her uncle was foreman for well-known Kiwi boat designers/builders, Lidgard Yachts. Because of this Melissa says she basically grew up on the Hauraki Gulf and beyond, sailing all year round. But she also managed to fit in many years of dedication to equestrian sports – in which she was an active competitor and certified NZ dressage judge.

Melissa holds a competition licence with Motorsport NZ and has driven at several events at Hampton Downs – she can’t wait to do more!

And when she isn’t racing cars, riding horses or sailing boats, Melissa enjoys walking her dog, Nessa, painting, cycling and attending Reformer Pilates classes at her favourite studio, Kcore at Victoria Park.

“The thing that really sets Stellar apart for me is the commitment of our team to deliver the very best results for our clients, on time and in budget, every time.”
