Super Fund’s Adrian Orr honoured with CFO Award

Adrian Orr, chief executive of the NZ Superannuation Fund, was recognised this evening with an award for his outstanding contribution to finance and business during the past year.

The award was sponsored by Stellar Consulting, and presented at the annual CFO Summit in Auckland by Stellar general manager Nicholas Glanfield.

Adrian has had a decorated career, including roles as Chief Analyst at New Zealand Treasury and Economist with the OECD in Paris. He has been a member of the Expert Advisory Committee of World Bank Treasury and Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand.

Since being appointed Chief Executive of the Guardians of New Zealand Superannuation in 2007, the fund has grown to over $33 billion dollars, at a rate of return of over 15% over the past 5 years.

Alongside his role as CEO, Adrian is Chair of both the International Forum of Sovereign Wealth Funds, and the Pacific Pension and Investment Institute.

Born in Taupo and educated at the University of Waikato, Adrian has been recognised across numerous ‘influential investor’ rankings by various investment industry magazines, and has received a number of domestic and global industry, NGO and audit awards on behalf of the New Zealand Superannuation Fund with regard to leadership, innovation, governance, responsible investing and reporting.
