Stellar a triple finalist in Microsoft New Zealand awards

Microsoft NZ partner awards 2017

We received some great news today: Stellar Consulting Group has been named a triple finalist in the Microsoft New Zealand Partner Awards for 2017.

Stellar was shortlisted in the Technology for Good category for our pro bono work over the past year with the charity Stand Children’s Services.

Stand works with some of the most disadvantaged families in New Zealand, supplying services in homes and in the community, as well as providing respite care in Children’s Villages.

Cloud for Global Good

Stand for Children was selected to be part of Microsoft’s Cloud for Global Good initiative, and was then matched with Stellar Consulting.

Using Microsoft’s Azure public cloud services, Stellar has provided a highly scalable and robust data and analytics solution for Stand. Azure Data Factory, SQL Database and Power BI services are used to ingest, store and expose Stand’s case file data in a secure and surprisingly cost-effective manner (less than $0.20 per user per month).

“Now, it’s very quick for us to spot the outliers and high-risk cases, and we can also tell where we have bottlenecks in our organisation that are impacting our front-line services,” says Stand’s CIO, Richard Parry.

“We see clients faster, deal with them much more efficiently, and their outcomes will be better because we can spot potential problems before they happen.”

A new motto of “Insight to Action” has been adopted within Stand to describe the transformation the leadership team is hoping to drive throughout their organisation.

Stellar is also a double finalist in the Data Platform and Analytics category for our work with Stand and with the Te Puke kiwifruit packer Eastpack.
