We’re looking for a standout Principal Architect to join our Advisory team and help drive impactful data and analytics strategies for some of New Zealand’s leading organisations. In this role, you’ll provide strategic guidance, technical leadership, and architectural expertise – helping clients unlock the full value of their data.
You’ll work at the intersection of strategy and implementation – crafting data roadmaps, design modern analytics architectures, and guiding the development of scalable, future-ready solutions. You’ll also play a key role in mentoring our deliver teams and setting technical direction across Stellar.

What you’ll be doing.
- Work directly with clients to understand their business goals, data challenges, and strategic priorities.
- Develop data and analytics strategies and roadmaps that align with client needs.
- Design and oversee the implementation of modern, scalable analytics architectures.
- Provide technical leadership across project teams and contribute to capability development.
- Guide and mentor consultants across our delivery and technical functions.
- Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, building strong relationships, and ensuring value at every step.
- Support business development through pre-sales engagement and thought leadership.
- Stay current with emerging tools, technologies, and trends in data and analytics.
What you’ll bring.
- 10+ years’ experience in data and analytics architecture and consulting.
- Proven expertise designing and delivering end-to-end analytics solutions.
- Deep knowledge of modern data architecture, platforms, and tools.
- Strong leadership and mentoring experience in a consulting environment.
- Confidence working directly with clients and managing senior stakeholders.
- Technical proficiency in Pythorn, R, Java, SQL, or similar languages.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- A relevant tertiary qualitification in Computer Science, or similar.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- A natural drive for continuous improvement and innovation.
