Jürgen Backhaus celebrates his 10th year anniversary at Stellar. Based in Auckland, he became the Lead Consultant three years ago.
After completing his diploma in computer science in Germany, Jürgen spent almost four years at Siemens. He worked in an internal consulting role in SAP Business Intelligence. Moving to New Zealand in 2011, his first interview was with Stellar. And he has been with the company ever since. “What I enjoy about working for Stellar is the great team and leadership where you never feel like you are just a number. Everyone genuinely cares. A great diversity of projects and engagements helps to develop personally and professionally. It is always encouraged to learn and grow,” says Juergen.
Throughout his 10 years with Stellar not only has he strengthened his SAP knowledge, but Jürgen has also diversified into many other technologies, including the Microsoft stack, and working with multiple hyperscalers. He enjoys the big projects with long-term engagements as much as helping on smaller projects to achieve the best outcome for Stellar’s customers.

In his leisure time, Jürgen tries to spend as much time as possible with his young family, including a son and a daughter. He also enjoys rock music and making and consuming good food. He especially enjoys baking and recently rediscovered his love for making “everything” with sourdough.
