Luke Turnbull joins Stellar as Consulting Director

Stellar Consulting Group announced today that it has appointed Luke Turnbull as Consulting Director (Central/Southern Region), based at Stellar’s Wellington office.

A South Island native, and graduate of the University of Canterbury and Massey University, Luke started his career at ANZ Bank in Auckland and Wellington.

Moving to London in 2000, he was a Business Analyst at Reuters and Barclays before heading to South Africa where he continued to focus on the financial services industry with analyst and consultant roles at Standard Chartered Bank and Old Mutual.

Most recently, Luke has been a Senior Consultant and Practice Lead at Principa Decisions, a data analytics, consulting and software company based in Cape Town and serving more than 150 companies worldwide.

“We’re delighted to welcome Luke back home to New Zealand,” says Nicholas Glanfield, general manager at Stellar.

“He brings in-depth international experience in IT, product design, data-driven credit risk and marketing best practice throughout the customer lifecycle. He has implemented highly successful growth and product strategies at the largest banks, insurers and retailers in South Africa.

“Luke’s appointment further deepens Stellar’s delivery capability in the Wellington market. His ability to understand, then translate ministerial requirements into operational solutions will ensure Stellar is able to provide even more far reaching transformational change through advanced use of business intelligence and analytics.”

Luke says he’s looking forward to helping clients extract more value from their data and assist them using analytics to improve internal and customer-facing decisions.

“I am excited about joining Stellar as it gives me the opportunity to help organisations in the public and private sectors get more value out of their data and improve their decision making.

“By overlaying a predictive element, there is further opportunity to positively influence tactical and strategic decisions to benefit Stellar’s customers and, in turn, their customers.”

On a personal note, Luke is looking forward to spending time with extended family in New Zealand. He is keen to re-explore the country with his wife and two daughters.

He starts at Stellar today.
