We are excited to welcome a new contractor. Peter Hanning is now part of our Stellar team.
Peter has started in the Auckland office. He is joining us to specifically help Luke Turnbull and Lia Poghosyan with work for the government innovation agency.
Consultancy abroad experience
Peter has 20 plus years of consulting experience. Following time as a graduate employee at Ernst and Young in their consulting division, he spent five years in the UK. He was an independent consultant in the telecommunications and publishing sectors. He worked as a business analyst, then a project and programme manager, including programme management of a data strategy programme.
Government work
Upon returning to New Zealand, he continued consulting largely to local and central government agencies. He worked on the amalgamation of the various Auckland Councils. He has project managed policy projects for government agencies and councils. Later he assisted The Treasury in the development and adoption of the Better Business Cases approach to business case development. Peter wrote the business case for and established a new policy design lab called the Auckland Co-Design Lab as a joint venture between the Central Government and Auckland Council.
Peter specialises in business case development, programme development and project management. “We are really excited to have Peter on the Stellar team,” says Luke Turnbull, the Stellar General Manager for the Southern Region. “He is a seasoned professional with a great range of skills and experience,” added Luke.
Charity and surfing
Peter is also on the board of a charity called The Storytime Foundation. The charity works to improve outcomes for deprived children by enhancing the bond between caregivers and children. They provide reading books and parenting advice to families of newborns through to 3 years of age, and to date has supported over 60,000 families in NZ. Rumour has it, that Peter is also a great surfer.
